Winter Meeting on Statistical Physics 2026
The Winter Meeting on Statistical Physics, organized annually by the Statistical Physics and Thermodynamics Division of the Mexican Physical Society, is a key event designed to foster collaboration among physicists working in statistical physics and related fields in Mexico. Each edition gathers national and international scientists to exchange knowledge, present research results, and explore new lines of inquiry in a welcoming, inclusive, and informal environment. The main program features plenary lectures by renowned invited speakers who present the state of the art in their fields in an accessible manner. Attendees, including students of all levels, postdoctoral researchers, and professors, are invited to submit abstracts to share their ongoing research through posters or contributed talks. The meeting has been held in various locations, including Taxco, Puebla, Guanajuato, and Mexico City, and has also featured virtual editions, reflecting its dynamic and adaptable nature. Topics span a broad range of areas in fundamental and applied statistical physics and thermodynamics, transport processes, including quantum fluids, soft matter, biophysics, complex systems, and other related fields.
The 54th edition of the Winter Meeting on Statistical Physics will take place from January 7 to 9, 2026, in the northern city of Monterrey—home to several universities and research institutes. This academic environment makes Monterrey a fitting choice for this year’s venue. The meeting will be hosted at the facilities of the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM), also known as “El Tec.” Submission deadline for posters and contributed talks will be October 1st, and the due date for fee payment will be November 30.
